Start your graduate study in a lab that combines mechanics, experiments and AI.
What we study
- Theory of crack diagnosis: closed-form solutions for how waves are reflected and transmitted at a crack in a beam.
- Piezoelectric sensing experiments: coin-sized PZT wafers bonded on structures send waves and detect damage from the returning signals.
- AI + mechanics: physics-informed machine learning that predicts cracks and structural behavior from limited data.
- Real bridges (PSC girders): estimating prestress and camber of bridge girders from field measurements.
See the Research page for details.
